Overview:

Uganda Baati Ltd. launches a new showroom on Kitimbo Road to provide high-quality building materials and technical training for contractors in Kamuli.

KAMULI, Uganda — Uganda Baati Ltd. has opened its 20th showroom in Kamuli district, marking a significant expansion of its retail and technical footprint in eastern Uganda.

The new facility on Kitimbo Road aims to provide high-quality steel roofing and building solutions to a rapidly growing community that includes Kamuli, Buyende, Luuka and Kayunga. The branch will stock the company’s flagship brands, ranging from affordable Resincot and Covermax to premium Lifestile stone-coated tiles.

Company officials say the showroom is designed to do more than sell materials; it will serve as a technical information center. Local contractors, hardware dealers and fundis—the local term for skilled tradespeople—can access direct product education and supply chain support at the site.

This showroom is a strategic step in bringing our products and services closer to the people of Kamuli, said Patrick Katende, head of service centers at Uganda Baati. It is about creating a reliable support system for our customers through expert guidance and after-sales service.

The launch comes at a time of increased construction activity in the region. Rose Birungi, the Kamuli resident district commissioner, presided over the opening ceremony and noted that the investment aligns with the district’s infrastructure needs.

We welcome this move, as it speaks directly to the district’s growing demand for quality construction materials, Birungi said. She added that the showroom is expected to contribute to local economic growth by creating opportunities for skills development within the community.

Uganda Baati’s move into Kamuli is part of a broader corporate strategy to improve access to durable building materials across all regions of Uganda.
