KAMPALA, Uganda — MTN MoMo has launched a new promotional campaign called Sambagala Full Time, offering consumers discounts of up to 88 percent on home essentials, electronics, and appliances.
The campaign runs on the company’s digital marketplace, Market by MoMo, which allows customers to purchase products online using mobile money and receive delivery at their doorstep.
Company officials stated that the launch comes at a time when national conversations are centered around major sporting moments and family gatherings at home.
Brian Mutungi, Country Lead for E-commerce for Market by MoMo at MTN Uganda, said the campaign is designed to meet the changing needs of customers who seek convenience, trust, and value.
“Through Market by MoMo, shoppers can access a wide variety of products, make secure payments using MTN MoMo and receive their purchases without the hassle of moving from store to store,” Mutungi said.
The promotion includes specific price reductions across several product categories. In the home entertainment section, a Smartec 55-inch Android Frameless TV has been reduced to 992,000 Ugandan shillings from 2 million shillings.
Other electronic items include an Oraimo 10,000 milliampere-hour power bank, reduced from 45,000 shillings to 28,900 shillings, and P47 Bluetooth Headsets with FM Radio, cut from 36,000 shillings to 7,600 shillings.
For kitchen and home utility items, a Global Star two-in-one juice blender has been discounted from 100,000 shillings to 54,300 shillings. An ADH 120-liter Double Door Top Freezer is also available at 443,000 shillings, down from 600,000 shillings.
The company announced it will also run a series of challenges across social media platforms. Participants in these online challenges will be eligible to win rewards, including digital shopping vouchers and cart clearance prizes.
MTN MoMo stated that the marketplace initiative is part of its broader ambition to expand beyond financial transactions and become a preferred digital solutions platform.
Customers can access the promotional deals by visiting the market.momo.africa website or through the Market by MoMo section within the main MoMo application.
