This was during a recent sensitization on EFRIS compliance and spot checks conducted by the Tax Education team in Kamuli where taxpayers expressed interest in using the EFRIS but were constrained when it came to using EFRIS records to accurately file their returns every month.

Taxpayers in Kamuli district appealed to the Uganda Revenue Authority (URA) to organize and conduct return filing trainings for targeted taxpayers in their different categories as their needs differ according to the various businesses they are engaged in.

This was during a recent sensitization on EFRIS compliance and spot checks conducted by the Tax Education team in Kamuli where taxpayers expressed interest in using the EFRIS but were constrained when it came to using EFRIS records to accurately file their returns every month.

“We struggle with using EFRIS records to file our returns and we are sometimes forced to come to your offices for support, I suggest you train us how to correctly file returns,” said Nahalamba Janapher, the accountant of KBS company.

Olivia Kiconco, the EFRIS expert took the taxpayers through the EFRIS and its usage including the process of stock management specifically stock recording, configuration, issuance of input credit and debit notes and filing returns using the prefilled web return forms.

Richard Arapai, the in-charge Kamuli also encouraged the taxpayers to always seek support and not be stuck while doing anything related to URA. He assured them that URA is there to support them fulfill their tax obligations. “Come to us in case you have any tax-related challenges, we are ready to support you,” he said.

The URA team committed to place Kamuli district on their radar for extensive tax education since the Authority now has a fully-fledged division curved out for Tax education and onboarding of new taxpayers.
