KAMPALA, UGANDA – Mobile phone operator MTN Uganda has bid farewell to its outgoing Chief Marketing Officer, Somdev Sen, who is leaving to take up a new role at MTN Rwanda.
At a ceremony in Kampala, colleagues and business partners praised Mr. Sen’s significant contributions to MTN Uganda’s brand and market position.
Under his leadership, the company launched several successful campaigns, including Osmosis, MoMo Nyabo, and Freedom Bundles. He also played a key role in reviving Uganda’s passion for football.
“Somdev’s ability to connect with team members at all levels was remarkable,” said an MTN Uganda spokesperson. “He drove growth and brought issues to the forefront.”
Mr. Sen’s departure marks the end of an era for MTN Uganda, but the company says it is poised for continued growth.
He will take up the role of Chief Digital and Commercial Officer at MTN Rwanda.
