A total of 40 Ugandans have been selected for training at the Equity Leaders Program (ELP) Innovation Hub.

The ELP Innovation Hub is an initiative that has seen the Equity Group Foundation (EGF) partner with E&M Technologies, a tech company led by an Equity Leaders Program (ELP) alumnus, to build capacity and incubate top ELP talent in Kenya and Uganda.

Following the initial training this week, the 40 scholars will join 400 other Equity Leaders Program scholars from across the region in Kenya for further incubation training for 6 month. This phase will expand their knowledge and provide invaluable insights into the tech industry.

The 40 exceptional scholars were selected from over 300 Equity Leaders Program (ELP) scholars from across various districts in Uganda with an Equity Bank presence.

The scholars will embark on transformative training and mentorship at the Equity Bank innovation hub, where they will delve into trainings on app development, tackle technology challenges, and exchange ideas.

Speaking at the launch of the Equity Innovation Hub Uganda, Equity Bank’s Managing Director Anthony Kituuka highlighted the Bank’s commitment to developing human capital through the Equity Leaders Program and technology.

“Equity has taken a step to equip the younger generation with a diversity of technology and innovative skills to solve future banking sector challenges in Uganda and Africa”.

Kituuka further encouraged the scholars to be pro-active as they dive into the world of innovation especially as they seek to create the ideas that will change the world we live in.
