Standard Chartered Bank Uganda has appointed Stella Keshubi as its Legal and Company Secretary.
In a statement issued on Monday, Standard Chartered Bank Uganda said Keshubi has over10 years’ experience in banking, corporate and commercial law.
“Stella is an Advocate of the High Court of Uganda and Courts subordinate, with over 10 years’ experience in Banking, Corporate and Commercial law,” the statement said.
Keshubi joined Standard Chartered Bank in 2017 as Country Legal Counsel and prior to that, worked in Dfcu Bank, Housing Finance Bank, and private legal practice.
She holds a Master’s in Business Administration with a specialisation in Strategic Planning, from Heriot-Watt University.
She is also a member of the Uganda Law Society and East Africa Law Society.
Founded in August 1912, Stanchart Uganda is the oldest commercial bank in the country and has maintained a continuous banking presence in the country since its founding.
As of December 2020, it was the third largest commercial bank in Uganda by assets, with an asset base of UGX3.8 trillion (US$1.072 billion), with shareholders’ equity of UGX:937 billion (US$264 million), behind Stanbic Bank Uganda and Centenary Bank.
