Former Vision Group Chief Executive Officer Robert Kabushenga has been appointed to serve on the KCB Bank board of directors.

Mr Kabushenga has been appointed alongside the Chief Technical Officer of Trade Mark East Africa, Ms Allen Asiimwe, and Lawrence Kiambi, the KCB Group Chief Finance Officer.

Kabushenga welcomed the appointment.

“I am honoured to join .@kcbbankug as a Non-Executive Director. I never once thought I would end up in the work of finance. Now here I am. And the company of fine minds I will be keeping!! .@AllenAsiimwe1 this is going to be one hell of a ride. Let’s get to work,” he tweeted.

Kabushenga brings over 20 years of experience having worked as Vision Group CEO from 1 January 2007 to 2020. He previously worked as Executive Director of the Uganda Media Centre, doubling as the government spokesperson.

He had earlier worked as Board Secretary for New Vision for three years until 2005, and as Company Secretary and Legal Officer, as well as Legal and Administration Officer of the Monitor Publications Ltd.

He holds a Bachelor of Laws degree from Makerere University.

Asiimwe brings over 20 years of working experience to the board of KCB. As the Chief Technical Officer at TradeMark East Africa, she is responsible for the technical delivery of TMEA’s entire project portfolio in infrastructure, trade environment, and business competitiveness spanning 12 countries.

Prior to this, Asiimwe has been a consultant for the African Export Import Bank supporting the implementation of the Intra Africa Trade Initiative and has served as past CEO of AVID Development, a consulting firm working on key issues of trade, development and governance in Africa. 

She is also a co- Founder of the Girls for Girls Global Mentoring Initiative now in 23 countries.

Asiimwe holds a Master’s in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School (Edward Mason Fellow, 2017) and a Masters in International Business Law from the University of Manchester, UK (1998).

Kiambi is also on the board of K C B Staff Pension Fund Trust Ltd., Kcb Bank South Sudan Ltd. and Westacres Ltd. and Member of Institute of Directors (Kenya) and Member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya.

He previously occupied the position of Chief Finance Officer at AIG Property Casualty, Inc., Finance Director-East & Central Africa Region at Cadbury Ltd. and Director-Supply Finance at East African Breweries Ltd.

Mr Kiambi received an undergraduate degree from United States International University (Kenya).
