Ugandan businessman and entrepreneur Patrick Bitature has been appointed the Board chairman of Bolloré Transport & Logistics Uganda, a clearing and forwarding company.

Bolloré Transport & Logistics Uganda was set up in Uganda in 1968 and offers warehousing & inventory management, customs brokerage, collateral management as well as multi-modal transport and distribution services.

On Thursday, 14 October 2021, Bitature welcomed the appointment, describing it as an opportunity to step up the quantity and quality of Uganda’s imports and exports.

“I am humbled to be appointed as the Chairman of the Board of what is probably the biggest logistics company in Africa. This has come at this crucial time when Uganda needs a reliable partner as we step up the quantity and quality of our imports and exports,” he said.

“Our imports and exports are increasing as more and more people get interested and invested in our economy. As a result of this, we are seeing an increase in the goods our country produces and exports. A good example of this is coffee; we currently export 7 million bags of coffee annually but that number is fast increasing,” Bitature said.

“Our imports and exports will also step up soon to include the long-awaited Oil & Gas industry infrastructure. This means creating more jobs for East Africans in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda.

There is an African proverb that says “If you want to get a tough job done well and in time, give it to a busy but reliable person” so, I am honoured that Bollore Transport & Logistics Uganda has found me to be such a reliable person.”
