CFAO Mobility Uganda launches the all-new Suzuki ACROSS Hybrid SUV, offering a year of free fuel and insurance to help motorists combat volatile pump prices.

KAMPALA, Uganda – CFAO Mobility Uganda has introduced the Suzuki ACROSS Hybrid sport utility vehicle to the local market, anchoring the launch with an aggressive consumer promotion aimed at offsetting volatile pump prices.

The distributor debuted the 1.5-liter hybrid SUV alongside a marketing campaign, “The Upgrade You Deserve,” which offers one year of complimentary fuel and comprehensive insurance with the purchase of any new Suzuki model. The incentive package, available while current stocks last, supplements the company’s standard terms of two years of free vehicle servicing and a three-year manufacturer warranty.

The automotive sector in East Africa has faced headwinds from fluctuating global oil prices, shifting consumer interest toward fuel-efficient platforms. CFAO Mobility is positioning the ACROSS Hybrid as a direct response to these rising overheads, targeting buyers who traditionally opt for used imports. Pre-owned foreign vehicles dominate the Ugandan market but often carry hidden maintenance liabilities, lack factory warranties, and require immediate out-of-pocket expenses for insurance and fuel.

The newly introduced ACROSS features a 1.5-liter K15C engine paired with a 12-volt Smart Hybrid Vehicle by Suzuki mild-hybrid system, generating 76 kilowatts of power and 137 newton-meters of torque. Available in both a five-speed manual and a six-speed automatic transmission, the powertrain utilizes regenerative braking and an integrated starter generator to optimize fuel efficiency. The platform delivers a manufacturer-claimed fuel consumption rating of 5.3 liters per 100 kilometers, allowing a driving range of up to 900 kilometers on its 45-liter fuel tank.

Inside, the cabin features a 10.25-inch digital instrument cluster and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment interface compatible with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The premium GLX trim adds a 360-degree camera system, a head-up display, ventilated front seats, and a panoramic sunroof. Luggage capacity measures up to 347 liters, accessible via a hands-free power tailgate. Safety equipment integrated across the range includes six airbags, electronic stability program, adaptive cruise control, lane-keep assist, and autonomous emergency braking.

“The all-new Suzuki ACROSS Hybrid introduces a sophisticated SUV experience that delivers practical, everyday economy,” Dan Engola, Suzuki sales manager at CFAO Mobility Uganda, said. “Today’s consumers are making smarter, more calculated decisions. They are looking beyond the initial purchase price and factoring in long-term maintenance, servicing, and fuel economy.”

To lower the barrier to entry for zero-mileage vehicles, the distributor has structured three acquisition pathways: upfront cash payments, asset financing agreements through local commercial partner banks, and a trade-in program allowing motorists to credit the value of their current vehicles toward a new purchase.

Isaac Tegule, marketing manager at CFAO Mobility Uganda, said the financing options and complimentary running costs are designed to inject financial predictability for corporate and private buyers during their first year of ownership.

The promotional terms extend to the entire local Suzuki inventory. The lineup encompasses the Fronx, S-Presso, Eeco Van, XL6, Ertiga, Super Carry, Jimny five-door, Grand Vitara Hybrid, and the newly arrived ACROSS Hybrid.

Operations and public test drives for the model fleet are centered at the CFAO Mobility showrooms on Plot 1A and 1B, First Street, within the Kampala Industrial Area.
