PostBank Uganda appoints Martin Mugisha as Executive Director Operations, bolstering its senior leadership team with over 20 years of banking experience

KAMPALA, Uganda — PostBank Uganda announced Monday the appointment of Martin Mugisha as Executive Director Operations, bolstering its senior leadership team.

Mugisha, who previously served as the bank’s Chief Credit Officer, brings over two decades of banking experience to his new role. His expertise spans both local and regional banks in Uganda.

According to PostBank Uganda, Mugisha’s appointment is a strategic move aimed at driving the bank’s growth ambitions. His leadership and proven track record in risk management are expected to elevate the bank’s performance amidst evolving market dynamics.

Andrew Owiny, Chairman of the Board, welcomed Mugisha to the board, expressing his confidence in Mugisha’s ability to make a significant impact.

“Martin’s leadership and proven track record in risk management will go a long way in elevating the bank as we navigate the evolving market dynamics and pursue sustainable success,” Owiny said.

Julius Kakeeto, CEO of PostBank Uganda, also praised Mugisha’s extensive experience in business origination and risk management, noting that it positions him to steer critical areas of the bank.

The appointment of Mugisha as Executive Director Operations increases the number of executive directors on the board, a move responding to the increased demands arising from the bank’s aggressive growth over the past few years.
