KAMPALA, UGANDA – Up to 35 prominent firms have partnered with MTN Uganda for the 2024 edition of the 21 Days of Y’ello Care program. This initiative, launched by MTN Uganda in 2007, aims to empower employees to contribute directly to their local communities.
Key partners include American Tower Corporation Uganda, Maendeleo Foundation, Centenary Technology Services, Tecno Mobile, Roofings Group, Faces Up, Stanbic Bank, Uganda Baati Limited, Jubilee Insurance, DFCU Bank, Umeme Limited, and TotalEnergies Uganda, among others.
These organizations will support projects in five schools across Uganda, including Kansanga Seed Secondary School in Kampala, St. Joseph’s Aid Society in Kyankwanzi district, Ongongoja Secondary School in Katakwi district, Bishop Dunstan Nsubuga Memorial School in Kalangala district, and Ariwa Secondary School in Yumbe district.

Bryan Mbasa, Senior Manager of the MTN Foundation, expressed his enthusiasm for the unprecedented level of corporate engagement. “We are thrilled to see so many organizations share our commitment to making a positive impact in Ugandan communities. Together, we can create lasting change and improve lives.”
Samuel Mwogeza, Executive Director and Head of Private and Personal Banking at Stanbic Bank Uganda, highlighted the importance of partnerships in driving positive change. “We are proud to have contributed to two of the four schools identified by MTN Uganda. Our partnership upgraded facilities at Bishop Dunstan Secondary School in Kalangala, including the provision of reusable sanitary towels to support girls’ dignity and the installation of seating to create a conducive learning environment.”
Ssekitto Kalule Emmanuel, founder of Faces Up, described being part of the 30 days of Y’ello Care as empowering. “We were inspired and witnessed firsthand the power of partnership founded on intentionality and service.”
The 21 Days of Y’ello Care program has evolved into a flagship initiative for MTN Uganda, demonstrating the company’s dedication to corporate social responsibility. This year’s edition, extended to 30 days in commemoration of MTN Group’s 30 years of operation, promises to be the most impactful yet.
