The engagements brought together government officials, tourism agencies, tour operators, airlines and hospitality businesses to explore partnerships, develop travel packages and improve connectivity between Uganda and Mozambique.
Uganda is also inviting Mozambican investors to explore opportunities in agro-processing, manufacturing, minerals, oil and gas, infrastructure, ICT, renewable energy and tourism, while encouraging Ugandan businesses to tap into the Mozambican market.
The celebrations also recalled the longstanding friendship between the two countries, including Mozambique’s support for Uganda’s liberation movement, FRONASA, whose fighters trained at Montepuez in Cabo Delgado Province in 1976.
As Uganda continues its journey of economic transformation, these engagements reflect a commitment to turning historic ties into practical opportunities for business, tourism, investment and shared prosperity.
