KAMPALA – The Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development has announced that the National Budget Conference for the Financial Year 2026/27 will be held this Thursday, September 11, 2025, at Speke Resort Munyonyo.
Finance Minister Matia Kasaija is expected to present the government’s Budget Strategy under the theme: “Full Monetization of Uganda’s Economy through Commercial Agriculture, Industrialization, Expanding and Broadening Services, Digital Transformation and Market Access.”

Following the Munyonyo meeting, the Ministry will roll out Regional Budget Consultative Meetings from Monday, September 15 to Friday, October 3, 2025. These consultations are aimed at capturing views from stakeholders across the country to ensure that the budget reflects regional needs and national development goals.
The Ministry has also encouraged members of the public to contribute to the budget-making process through their elected representatives or by submitting ideas directly on the Ministry’s digital platforms, including its official handle @mofpedU.
Officials say the consultative process is central to Uganda’s planning framework, ensuring that the national budget supports inclusive growth and the government’s broader vision of economic transformation.
