KAMPALA, Uganda – Airtel Africa has entered into a multiyear, multimillion-dollar strategic partnership with Xtelify, a fully owned digital subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, to enhance its operations and customer experience across the continent. This partnership is set to accelerate Airtel Africa’s digital transformation by leveraging Xtelify’s advanced software platforms.

The agreement will see Airtel Africa deploy Xtelify’s software platforms, which include Data Engine, Work, and IQ. These tools are designed to streamline various aspects of the telecommunication value chain, from data analytics to workforce management and customer engagement.

According to a press release, the deployment of Xtelify Data Engine and Xtelify Work will empower Airtel Africa’s extensive 150,000-strong field team across 14 countries including Uganda.

The platforms will provide market insights for creating micro-targeted strategies and enhance critical security features such as spam and fraud protection for customers. Xtelify IQ will enable secure, real-time, omnichannel customer engagement, thereby improving service quality.

Jacques Barkhuizen, Group Chief Information Officer for Airtel Africa, highlighted the strategic importance of the collaboration. “This partnership marks a transformative leap in our mission to build Africa’s digital future,” Barkhuizen said. “By harnessing Airtel’s AI platforms that have proven scale in India, we are not only simplifying our operations but also accelerating hyper-personalized experiences for our customers.”

Binod Srivastava, Chief Business Officer for Global Business at Bharti Airtel, also commented on the deal. “By combining our innovative Xtelify platform with Airtel Africa’s vision, we will drive their digital transformation and address the industry’s most complex challenges,” Srivastava said.

Xtelify also recently launched Airtel Cloud, a sovereign, telco-grade cloud platform.

Tailored to handle 1.4 billion transactions per minute for Airtel’s own operations in India, this secure and reliable cloud solution is now being extended to other businesses, offering flexible scaling, lower costs, and enhanced connectivity.
