Absa Bank Uganda has appointed Henry Tumusiime as its new Human Capital Director, bringing over 18 years of experience in HR and leadership to the Kampala-based bank.
KAMPALA, Uganda — Absa Bank Uganda has named Henry Tumusiime as its new human capital director, the bank announced. His appointment took effect Tuesday.
Tumusiime comes to the role with over 18 years of experience in areas such as organizational leadership, development, and human resource management. Before joining Absa, he was the group chief resource officer at Abacus Pharma (Africa) Limited.
His background includes creating and putting in place strategies for organizational and cultural changes. He has also held positions like head of human resource at Bidco Uganda Limited and director of human capital and shared services at Movit Products Limited. Additionally, he worked as a manager for people and change at PricewaterhouseCoopers Uganda.
Tumusiime’s past experience also includes being the head of human resources at Unilever and working as an organization development specialist at the Uganda Revenue Authority. He has also done consulting work for Reev Consult International.
Interim Managing Director of Absa Bank Uganda, David Wandera, announced the appointment. He also expressed gratitude to Lillian Akot for her leadership during the transition.
Tumusiime earned a bachelor’s degree from Makerere University and a master’s degree from the London School of Economics and Political Science in the UK. He is a member of professional organizations in both the UK and Uganda.
