The bank fraternity in Uganda is mourning Hilda Doreen Rwabugahya, the Manager of Stanbic Bank’s Masindi branch, who slipped in a bathroom and died.
Rwabugahya reportedly collapsed in her bathroom at her home in Central Cell, Central Division, Masindi Municipality on Wednesday morning.

Julius Hakiza, the Albertine Regional Police Spokesperson, confirmed the incident and said investigations are underway to determine the cause of her death.
Annet Aminat, the Administrator at Kitara Medical Hospital, said that by the time Rwabugahya arrived at the facility, she had already passed away.
Kenneth Agutamba, the Head of Communications at Stanbic Bank Uganda, expressed shock upon learning of Rwabugahya’s death from her family on Wednesday morning.
Agutamba described her as a dedicated and hardworking individual who had served Stanbic Bank Uganda for 17 years.
Rwabugahya’s body was later transported to Mulago National Referral Hospital for a postmortem examination. In January 2023, a similar incident occurred when a British national, 37-year-old Katelia Khushid Banu, collapsed and died in her guest room at Masindi Hotel. Banu had checked into the hotel with nine relatives after traveling from Kampala as a tourist. Around 11:30 pm, her relatives heard her screaming from the bathroom.
They found her on the floor, and she told them she had slipped after showering. After sitting with her relatives for a while, she asked to return to her room, where she later collapsed and died.
