BoU renovated an Outpatient's Department building that has been serving the people of Magoro in Katakwi District since 1949, when it was built as a colonial dispensary.

The Bank of Uganda has renovated Magoro Health Centre III in Katakwi District as part of its corporate social responsibility programme.

The Deputy Governor, Dr Michael Atingi-Ego, officially handed over renovated and newly constructed facilities and essential medical equipment worth over UGX500m to Magoro Health Centre III in Katakwi.

BoU renovated an Outpatient’s Department building that has been serving the people of Magoro in Katakwi District since 1949, when it was built as a colonial dispensary.

The Central Bank also built a new Outpatient’s Department block and a new Maternity Block.

“Access to modern and efficient healthcare facilities is vital for maternal and child health. By supporting Magoro Health Centre III, we hope to bring essential healthcare services closer to the people, ensuring mothers and children in Katakwi can receive the care they need without the stress of travelling long distances,” Dr Ego said at the handover.

“We aim to uplift communities by investing directly in the lives and futures of Ugandans. In this way, we are not just your central bank; we are your partner in building a stronger, healthier Uganda,” he added.
