Ankole Coffee Producers Cooperative Union (ACPCU) has bagged several accolades for producing the best coffee at the 2024 GCEF Robusta Competition in China.

Uganda’s Ambassador to China Judith Nsababera, who was at the function, hailed the cooperative for the achievement.
“A huge congratulations to the hardworking farmers and everyone who made this possible,” she said.
UCDA was recognised as the Best Organiser for supporting the GCEF Global Robusta Competition.
The competition, organised by the Greater China Coffee Industry Elite Federation (GCEF), aims to promote high-quality Robusta and boost its market acceptance in China and beyond.
It was held from August to November 2024 with 53 Robusta entries and 8,798 coffee samples evaluated by 263 expert judges across 80+ cities. Beans from China, Malaysia, Singapore, Vietnam, Mexico, Indonesia, and Uganda were among the competition.
This comes after Ugandan coffee won gold at the 10th International Competition for “Originally Roasted Coffees” AVPA Paris 2024. UCDA supported 12 coffee roasters to participate in the AVPA competition held in France.
Uganda’s coffee exports have reached unprecedented levels, marking a significant boost to the nation’s economy and offering a promising future for its farmers.
In July 2024, Uganda exported an astounding 821,593 60-kilogram bags of coffee, generating a revenue of US$210.48 million.
