KAMPALA, Uganda — Absa Bank Uganda has awarded five customers with a total of 50 million Ugandan shillings (approximately $13,500) in cash prizes as part of its ongoing card usage campaign.
The winners, announced at a ceremony in Kampala, used their debit or credit cards for at least five transactions in November to pay for goods and services.
Michael Segwaya, Absa Bank Uganda’s executive director and chief financial officer, praised the winners for their loyalty and encouraged customers to continue using their Absa cards.

According to the Uganda Bankers Association, there has been an increase in the utilization of digital payment systems, including point-of-sale, debit cards, mobile banking, mobile money, and internet banking.
Sam Kiyaga, Absa Bank Uganda’s head of alternate channels, emphasized the bank’s commitment to ensuring the security of customers’ transactions.
