KAMPALA, Uganda — Vivo Energy Uganda, the distributor of Shell-branded fuels and lubricants, has unveiled a new lubricant on Tuesday, targeting the country’s growing commercial vehicle market.
The Shell Rimula R3X 20W-50 API CH-4 lubricant is designed to provide triple-action protection against heat, engine wear, and deposit formation, extending engine life. The product meets the updated Uganda National Bureau of Standards recommendations for lubricant APIs, officials said.
“Shell Rimula R3X is a critical partner for commercial drivers, ensuring their businesses run smoothly,” said Joanita Menya, managing director of Vivo Energy Uganda.
To promote the new product, Vivo Energy Uganda launched a two-month campaign, dubbed “Simbula ne Rimula R3X.” Over 7,000 commercial drivers will receive prizes worth over 200 million Uganda shillings.
Rebecca Nassiwa, lubricants brand manager, emphasized Vivo Energy Uganda’s commitment to quality products. “We ensure engines last longer and perform efficiently with Shell Rimula R3X,” she said.
Francis Kayoki, lubricants manager, noted that the product’s API CH-4 certification ensures superior protection and fuel efficiency.
The introduction of Shell Rimula R3X comes as Uganda’s commercial vehicle market continues to grow. Industry experts predict increased demand for high-quality lubricants.
Vivo Energy Uganda’s investment in the new lubricant underscores the company’s focus on meeting evolving customer needs.
