Prior to her appointment, Poran, who is a Ugandan, served as the Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Standard Bank Mozambique.
Catherine Poran has been appointed the Chief Executive Officer of Stanbic Business Incubator.
Poran, whose appointment became effective July 1, replaces Tony Otoa who has since joined the State-owned Uganda National Oil Company as the Chief Corporate Affairs Manager.
Prior to her appointment, Poran, who is a Ugandan, served as the Head of Corporate and Investment Banking at Standard Bank Mozambique.
She is a seasoned banker with 20-year career in the Standard Bank Group, including 15 years in Uganda.
Francis Karuhanga, the Chief Executive of Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited (SUHL), expressed his optimism about Poran’s appointment.

Poran expressed her excitement about her new role.

Catherine brings a wealth of experience in business management, strategic planning, and risk management to her new role. She holds a master’s in business administration from Edinburgh Business School, Heriot Watt University, UK, a Master of Laws from Buckingham University, and a Bachelor of Laws from Buckingham University.
