YUMBE – Roke Telkom, a leading Ugandan internet service provider, has announced the launch of a new telecommunications site in Yumbe, Uganda. The new site is part of the company’s efforts to expand its fixed broadband infrastructure in underserved districts across Uganda, and is expected to provide faster and more reliable internet services to individuals and businesses in the region.

The launch event was attended by Roger Sekaziga, CEO and Co-founder of Roke Telkom, who emphasized the importance of bridging the digital divide in Uganda. “Our goal is to provide reliable and affordable internet services to communities that need it most,” he said. “We believe that this new site will play a critical role in achieving that goal, and we are committed to continuing to invest in our network to ensure that our services are always meeting the needs of our customers.”

Daniele Nyirandutiye, USAID Uganda Mission Director, also spoke at the event, highlighting the importance of public-private partnerships in advancing internet connectivity and digital services. “This partnership demonstrates the impact that can be achieved when the public and private sectors work together to build a shared vision for empowering communities,” she said. “We are proud to be working with Roke Telkom to bring internet services to underserved communities in Uganda, and we look forward to continuing to work together to achieve our goals.”

The new site is part of Roke Telkom’s partnership with USAID’s Digital Invest program, which aims to expand internet connectivity and digital services in emerging markets.
