According to Sylvia Kirabo, the UNBS Public Relations Officer, being ISO 9001 certified will improve their service delivery through establishing credibility and trust among stakeholders.

The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has attained the prestigious ISO 9001: 2015 Quality Management Systems Certification.

The achievement comes after excelling in the Quality Management Systems Audit carried out by Axe Register, covering Development of National and Regional Standards for products and services (Standards Department), together with other functions; Human Resource, Customer Complaint Handling, Corporate Planning and Procurement Disposal Unit.

According to Sylvia Kirabo, the UNBS Public Relations Officer, being ISO 9001 certified will improve their service delivery through establishing credibility and trust among stakeholders.

She said this will also help the Bureau implement processes with consistent results that are easily repeatable, boosting customer satisfaction, promoting integration of internal policies and procedures, improving the Bureau’s image and reputation, fostering the culture of continual improvement in UNBS and presenting opportunities for partnerships.

The certification cycle is 3 years; from 27th July 2023 to 27th July 2026. UNBS will be undergoing annual audits to maintain this certification.
