Stanbic Uganda has bid farewell to three of their retiring Board Directors during a party hosted at Serena Hotel in Kampala.
The three retiring directors include Japheth Katto who served for nine years, six as Chairman of the Board of Directors at Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited (SBU) and three years, in the same capacity, for Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited (SUHL).
Also retiring is Mathematics Professor and Gospel teacher Patrick Mangheni who served as Chairman of the Board of Directors, Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited (SBU) for eight years, during which he also chaired the bank’s Engineering and Innovation Excellency Committee and was also a member of the Risk and Audit Management committees.

Ms. Sola David-Borha, the third retiree, served on the Board of Stanbic Uganda Holdings Limited (SUHL) and Stanbic Bank Uganda Limited (SBU) for three years during which she Chaired the Board Risk Management Committee for the bank.
Speakers on the night included Andrew Mashanda (SUHL Chief Executive), Anne Juuko (Stanbic Bank Chief Executive), Patrick Mweheire (Stanbic Regional Chief Executive), Sanni Yinka (Chief Executive Africa Regions, and Sim Tshabalala, the Standard Bank Group Chief Executive who praised the retiring board leaders for their contribution and committed leadership.

“I believe I speak for everyone at Stanbic when I say that we cannot thank Japheth enough for his bold leadership, commitment, support, and humour that he brought to the boardroom. Thank you for the compassion and empathy that you extended to employees, which was at times way above your call of duty,” said Patrick Mweheire, the Regional Chief Executive (East Africa) at Standard Bank Group.
