The awards, organised by Evolve Africa, will recognise organisations that are exhibiting excellent marketing ideas and campaigns.

This Friday, 2nd December 2022, all roads lead to Kampala Serena Hotel for the second season of the Uganda Marketing Excellence Awards (UMEAs)

The awards, organised by Evolve Africa, will recognise organisations that are exhibiting excellent marketing ideas and campaigns.

According to Evolve Africa Co-Founder Shafique Ssemakula, the UMEAwards span every aspect of content marketing, from creation, to distribution.

“The UMEAs will explore how well brands, marketers and their agency partners have leveraged different media channels,” he said.

Ssemakula also called on organisations to participate in the UMEA 2022, saying highlighted that participation is free and open to any organization that has engaged in a marketing.

“The UMEAs will explore how well brands, marketers and their agency partners have leveraged different media channels, digital and traditional, to create campaigns that have made a powerful impact on their target audiences,” he said.

Several organisations have already been nominated in 11 categories, which include, Best advertising campaign, Best use of partnership marketing, Best use of digital marketing, Best use of PR, Best innovation-new product/ service, Best use of experiential marketing, Best corporate social responsibility campaign, Best agency of the year (digital), Agency of the year (traditional media), Marketing campaign of the year and UMEAs most accomplished marketer.

A six-member jury will solely make the decision on who wins four (4) of the eleven (11) categories of the awards.

Some of the panellists are Dr. Benedict Mugerwa, Head of Professional Courses at Uganda Management Institute; Barbra Arimi Teddy, the Head of Marketing and Communications at National Social Security Fund (NSSF);  Ngulumi Immaculate Nabatte, the Chief Marketing Officer at Centenary Bank; Rogers Anguzu, Head of Marketing, Vision Group and Johnpaul Okwi, Manager Sponsorships and Events at MTN, among others.
