Uganda Airlines flight UR 444 departed Entebbe International Airport on Monday, 04 October 2021 for Dubai in the UAE, marking its maiden flight to the country.

The inaugural flight had 71 passengers and 30 tonnes of cargo. State Minister for Transport Fred Byamukama officiated at the launch.

The acting CEO of Uganda Airlines, Jennifer Bamuturaki, said the A330 neal that will be plying the Dubai route is the newest of the Airbus model.

“It is beautiful with three class; business, premium economy and economy, so in terms of competition, we will definitely compete because we have a good equipment,” Bamuturaki added.

Bamuturaki said that the launch comes at a right time because Dubai is a trade city, in a trade country and they expect to maximise this opportunity.

“Uganda Airlines comes to cement the trade partnerships that we have been talking about during the Dubai Expo, trade partnerships between Uganda and UAE, particularly Dubai, so as an airline, we represent the country,” Bamuturaki added.

The airline currently flies to several destinations, which are Nairobi, Mombasa, Bujumbura, Zanzibar, Johannesburg, Dar-es-salaam, Kilimanjaro, Kinshasa, Juba and Mogadishu
