The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) has availed several services on its online portal in a bid to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection due to physical contact between staff and clients.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 03 August 2021, NIRA said confirmation of National Identification Numbers (NINs), letters of confirmation of information and tracking status of applications are now accessible on under the services menu.

“We also wish to remind the public that all the above mentioned services were decentralized and are available at the 117 NIRA offices across the country. Clients can also request for replacement of lost National Identity Cards at any NIRA office and do not require to travel to the Kololo Head Office,” NIRA added.

“We however strongly advise clients and the general public to utilize the online options to access the above listed services and avoid physical visits to our service centres unless the service sought requires physical interaction with NIRA staff. Our various stakeholders including banks and telecoms have been informed of the use of the online services indicated above,” they added.

NIRA also said clients can also reach the through the following call centre line: 0800211700 Toll Free during working hours and the social media platforms.
