The National Identification and Registration Authority (NIRA) has availed several services on its online portal in a bid to reduce the risk of COVID-19 infection due to physical contact between staff and clients.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, 03 August 2021, NIRA said confirmation of National Identification Numbers (NINs), letters of confirmation of information and tracking status of applications are now accessible on www.nira.go.ug under the services menu.

“We also wish to remind the public that all the above mentioned services were decentralized and are available at the 117 NIRA offices across the country. Clients can also request for replacement of lost National Identity Cards at any NIRA office and do not require to travel to the Kololo Head Office,” NIRA added.

“We however strongly advise clients and the general public to utilize the online options to access the above listed services and avoid physical visits to our service centres unless the service sought requires physical interaction with NIRA staff. Our various stakeholders including banks and telecoms have been informed of the use of the online services indicated above,” they added.

NIRA also said clients can also reach the through the following call centre line: 0800211700 Toll Free during working hours and the social media platforms.

  2. I spent 6years waiting for my national id.. I re-registered for second time and all my documents were taken.. but now I can’t accept my NIN .. do the work neatly n smartly… At the right time..

  4. I have my national ID, but it has some un matching information, like the name is Yasirah but on the lD it’s Yasira and date of birth is 16th/08/1995on the lD it’s 10th/08/1995. Can I replace it???

  6. i cant access my money for now 4month because of the miss match of information on my National ID.instead of MORRIS they wrote MAURICE.what do i have to do now wait untill NIRA is done with processing of the new Id or thier is aprocedure other i can be help with.

  8. It’s past 5months but my ID is not yet out and the officers in the nira offices area asking for 70000 to fasten the removal of ID yet I have seen on the internet the confirmation letter should be paid via bank at the cost of 1000 shillings only
