The Board of Directors of the Private Sector Foundation Uganda (PSFU) has appointed Mr Stephen Asiimwe as its executive director.
Mr Asiimwe replaces the late Mr. Gideon Badagawa who passed away in June this year. Mr Francis Kisirinya has been acting PSFU executive director.
The Board chairman, Mr Elly Karuhanga, said the appointment takes immediate effect.
“Mr. Asiimwe has experience spanning over 30 years in both Government and private sector at management, leadership and business leadership levels in Uganda and globally.
We request you to give him complete cooperation so that he can deliver the best of his services for the benefits of the staff, Board, PSFU members, the private sector and Uganda as a whole,” Mr Karuhanga announced on Friday, 26 November 2021.
Mr Asiimwe was the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Uganda Tourism Board (UTB) from February, 2014-February, 2019.
He is now the Lead Consultant at the Primero Global Consult group, an international corporate communication, management and tourism consultancy. Mr Asiimwe was also the CEO and Editor-in-Chief of the East African Business Week from May 2015 to January 2014.
Mr. Asimwe holds a Masters degree in Organizational Leadership and Management. He is also a graduate of Makerere University with a BA in Social Sciences (Political Science and Sociology). He also holds a number of postgraduate diplomas and certificates in Education, Management, Marketing, Media and Communication.
