Overview:

Uganda's Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) takes a digital leap with ICT training for regional coordinators and a donation of 350 tablets to enhance service delivery.

Regional coordinators of Uganda’s Operation Wealth Creation (OWC) have undergone specialized training in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).

The training, which took place at the OWC headquarters in Kamwokya, aimed to enhance data management, operational efficiency, and overall service delivery.

OWC recently acquired 350 tablets from the Ministry of ICT and National Guidance, which will be used exclusively for government-related work.

According to Eng. John Wekesa Wambogo, OWC’s Director of ICT, the tablets will support national objectives, particularly in implementing the Parish Development Model (PDM).

Brig Gen Godfrey Muwanguzi, Acting Deputy Chief Coordinator of OWC, emphasized the significance of the training, urging coordinators to apply their new skills and adhere to guidelines.

The digitization of OWC’s operations is expected to contribute to Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.

Dr. Edward Katende, OWC’s representative at the PDM Secretariat, said the provision of tablets aligns with new policies aimed at streamlining reporting and curbing fraudulent practices.
