Overview:
Kansai Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte highlights the importance of cultural unity as the company headlines Kampala’s massive 2026 Holi Festival of Colors.
KAMPALA — Kansai Plascon solidified its ties with Uganda’s Indian community Sunday, serving as the lead sponsor for a Holi Festival that drew thousands to the Millennium Grounds in Lugogo.

The event, a collaboration between the Rajasthani Association and the Indian Association of Uganda, functioned as both a major cultural milestone and a significant brand activation for the paint manufacturer. By aligning with a festival defined by color and renewal, the company continues a long-term strategy of integrating its brand identity with high-visibility community traditions.

The celebration reached its peak with a low-altitude flyover by a Uganda Police Force helicopter, which released flower petals over the crowd. The display served as a centerpiece for an afternoon that featured international musical performances by Mumbai-based artist Pallavi Dabholkar and Indian Idol finalist Parleen Singh Gill.
Kansai Plascon Managing Director Santosh Gumte said the partnership is a pillar of the company’s broader commitment to cultural exchange.

Holi offers a powerful opportunity to celebrate diversity while strengthening relationships across communities, Gumte said during a raffle draw that awarded air tickets and electronics to attendees. This aligns closely with our vision of building lasting connections wherever we operate.
The festival also served as a diplomatic touchpoint, supported by the Indian High Commission. Beyond the symbolic ritual of throwing gulal and abir powders, the event highlighted the economic and cultural influence of the Indian diaspora within Uganda’s capital.

Organizers noted that the 2026 edition saw record attendance, signaling the festival’s transition from a community-specific gathering to a major fixture on Kampala’s broader social calendar.
