The new Mkazipreneur Community Library aims to empower women entrepreneurs in Kampala through a partnership with KCB Bank Uganda focused on literacy and innovation.
KCB Bank Uganda has backed the opening of a new community library in Kampala, as part of a project to help women and young people develop business skills.
The Mkazipreneur Community Library, based in the Ntinda area of the capital, officially opened its doors on Wednesday. It is intended to provide a safe space for learning and a hub for budding entrepreneurs.
Gladys Nalukenge Lubowa, a manager at KCB Bank Uganda, said that supporting women-led enterprises was a “strategic investment” in the country’s economic future.
“This community library is more than a reading space; it is a platform for ideas, entrepreneurship and opportunity,” she said.
The facility will offer mentorship and resources specifically designed for startups and women-led small businesses. The bank, which is licensed by the Bank of Uganda and operates 15 branches across the country, said the move is part of its wider sustainability and financial inclusion goals.
Mkazipreneur and the bank have both called on local community leaders to support the facility to ensure it has a long-term impact on the area.
