HOIMA, Uganda – CNOOC Uganda Limited is actively strengthening the local workforce for the country’s burgeoning oil and gas sector. The company recently celebrated the graduation of 100 individuals who completed a specialized training program designed to boost local content and build a more skilled talent pool.

Graduates, including instructors and students from 12 vocational training institutions, were trained in electrical maintenance, electrical installation, pipefitting, scaffolding, and rigging.
Delivered by Zetta Energy Ltd. in collaboration with the Uganda Industrial Research Institute (UIRI), the two-month course focused on practical skills, occupational health, and safety, preparing the trainees for high-demand roles within the industry.
During the ceremony, CNOOC’s National Content Manager, Eric Jumba, stated that the initiative directly supports the company’s commitment to developing Uganda’s workforce to meet both local and global industry standards.
