KAMPALA, Uganda — Airtel Uganda on Wednesday launched a new service offering scalable network solutions for businesses, in partnership with Cisco. The subscription-based Network as a Service (NaaS) solution allows enterprises to access fully managed, secure network infrastructure without significant upfront hardware investments.

The launch event at Kampala Serena Hotel highlighted how NaaS aligns with Airtel Uganda’s vision to support digital transformation across the country’s business landscape.

Rajesh Agarwal, Network Director at Airtel Uganda, said the service aims to alleviate the burden of complex IT management.

“At Airtel, we believe in a Uganda where businesses can focus on what they do best — serving customers, creating jobs and innovating,” Agarwal said. “With Network as a Service, we’re removing the burden of managing complex IT infrastructure. This is a shift in how enterprise networking is done.”

NaaS is designed for enterprises of all sizes, enabling them to scale network resources on demand. It includes built-in security features like firewalls and encryption, offers global-grade infrastructure with local support, and provides 24/7 dedicated technical assistance.

The solution is powered by Cisco, a global leader in networking technology, and is tailored to meet the specific needs of Ugandan businesses, from emerging startups to multinational corporations.

Javed Johar, Account Executive for Cisco Architecture, emphasized the agility and intelligence the new network offers.

“We’re proud to partner with Airtel Uganda on this transformative solution,” Johar said. “Businesses today need networks that are agile, secure and intelligent. NaaS delivers exactly that while freeing up internal teams to focus on innovation.”

Airtel Uganda stated the launch reaffirms its commitment to powering the nation’s digital economy with reliable, innovative and inclusive services.
