A group of human resource experts in Uganda is championing the use of virtual reality (VR) technology to transform workforce training and development.

The Kikoosi 7 (K7) team, an affiliate of the Human Resource Managers Association Uganda (HRMAU), showcased the benefits of VR technology during an outdoor movie night event in Kampala.

Shamim Walusimbi, team leader of HR Funhouse Kikoosi 7, highlighted the potential of VR to enhance employee focus and engagement, while minimizing distractions.

“Virtual reality is revolutionizing HR practices, particularly in training, employee engagement, and wellness,” Ms. Walusimbi said.

The K7 team is now advocating for the widespread adoption of VR technology across various organizations in Uganda, positioning HR professionals as drivers of the future of work in Africa.

Emmanuel Otim, President of the HR Fun House, emphasized the importance of HR professionals embracing innovative technologies like VR to stay ahead of the curve.

The use of VR technology in workforce training and development is gaining traction globally, with proponents arguing that it provides a safe, immersive, and engaging learning environment for employees.
