Uganda hosts the 11th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development, aiming to boost job creation and economic growth through sustainable development solutions.

Kampala, Uganda – As Uganda prepares to host the 11th Africa Regional Forum on Sustainable Development (ARFSD) in April, the government is banking on the summit to boost job creation opportunities and drive economic growth.

The ARFSD, scheduled to take place from April 9-11, 2025, at Speke Resort Munyonyo, will bring together over 1,500 participants, including Heads of State, ministers, policymakers, and experts from across Africa and beyond.

According to Uganda’s Prime Minister, Robinah Nabbanja, the summit will provide a platform for African countries to share knowledge, experiences, and best practices in achieving sustainable development.

“The ARFSD presents an opportunity for Africa to accelerate its progress towards achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and Agenda 2063,” Nabbanja told reporters.

The summit’s theme, “Driving job creation and economic growth through sustainable, inclusive, science- and evidence-based solutions for the 2030 Agenda and Agenda 2063,” resonates with Uganda’s development priorities.

The summit is expected to yield several benefits, including the creation of jobs, stimulation of economic growth, and promotion of sustainable development.

Experts say that the summit will provide a unique opportunity for African countries to address the challenges of poverty, inequality, and climate change, while promoting sustainable development.

“The ARFSD is a critical platform for Africa to showcase its commitment to sustainable development and to share its experiences and best practices with the rest of the world,” said Claver Gatete, Executive Secretary of the Economic Commission for Africa (ECA).
