Spouts International gets major funding boost to provide clean water to thousands of households in Uganda and Rwanda
KAMPALA – A Ugandan startup, Spouts International, has secured a major boost in its quest to provide clean water to thousands of households in Uganda and Rwanda.
The company, which manufactures and distributes ceramic water filters under the Purifaaya brand, has received $3 million (approximately Shs 11 billion) in funding from Incofin’s Water Access Acceleration Fund (W2AF).
The investment is expected to enable Spouts International to scale up its operations and expand its reach to more low-income households in Uganda and Rwanda.
According to Daniel Yin, founder of Spouts International, the funding will accelerate the company’s mission to provide clean water access to thousands of households in the region.
“We are thrilled to have secured this funding, which will enable us to provide clean and safe drinking water to more Ugandans and Rwandans,” Yin said.
Spouts International’s ceramic water filters are designed to provide a practical and affordable solution to communities facing water purification and energy challenges.
The company, which was founded in 2017, uses locally sourced materials to manufacture its filters, making them more accessible and affordable to low-income households.
The funding is a major boost to Uganda’s efforts to increase access to clean water, particularly in rural areas where many households lack access to safe and clean drinking water.
