KAMPALA, UGANDA – FINCA Uganda, a leading microfinance institution, has achieved a significant milestone by serving over 250,000 individuals and communities across Uganda. This remarkable feat demonstrates FINCA’s commitment to financial inclusion and its impact on improving the lives of microentrepreneurs, refugees, and other underserved populations.

As FINCA Uganda celebrates three decades of operations in the country, this milestone marks a major achievement in its mission to provide innovative and inclusive financial services to those who need them most. Since its inception in 1992, FINCA has been dedicated to generating economic value for businesses, social value for communities, and human value for individuals and their families.

According to James Onyutta, Managing Director of FINCA Uganda, “We are proud to have reached this milestone, which is a testament to our dedication to providing innovative and inclusive financial services to those who need them most. FINCA Uganda offers a range of financial services, including credit, savings, money transfer services, and various transactional channels. The institution has built an ecosystem of products tailored to meet the financial needs of its clients, with a focus on micro and small enterprises, agricultural finance, and youth empowerment.

The institution’s investment in technological innovation has also played a key role in its success. FINCA Uganda has embraced digital financial services, including FINCA Mobile, FINCA Ku siimu, Visa-enabled debit cards, e-banking, agency banking, and digital credit application and account opening solutions. Today, over 58% of FINCA’s customers prefer these digital services, accounting for over 70% of bank transactions.

FINCA Uganda’s commitment to financial capability and household financial health has also contributed to its impact. The institution has connected over 250,000 individuals and communities to expert financial education training, providing them with the knowledge and skills needed to manage their finances effectively.
