PostBank Uganda has equipped over 150 cassava farmers in Arua District with skills to tap into regional trade opportunities. The 4-day training, held in partnership with the Federation of Small and Medium Enterprises (FSME), focused on value addition and financial literacy.
Kizito Enzama, Personal Banker at PostBank Arua branch, said, “We want to support farmers in transitioning from subsistence to commercial farming, enabling them to meet local and international market standards and expand their market base.”
Resident City Commissioner, Arua Town, Mr. Charles Ichogor, commended the initiative, saying, “This training will enhance the quality of cassava products in Arua and contribute to the region’s social-economic transformation.”
Ichogor encouraged participants to apply the knowledge acquired during the training, saying, “I urge all participants to adopt and put into practice the skills they have gained to ensure better quality cassava products.”

PostBank Uganda’s Agri-SME Skills Development Program has benefited over 700 farmers nationwide since its launch in 2022. The 2024 cohort aims to reach 300 beneficiaries, with trainings held in various districts, including Soroti, Fort Portal, Arua, and Kampala.”
