Overview:
Previously as a Senior Economist, Bob worked under the Infrastructure Social and Services Department in the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development as a budget officer for a number of ministry agencies and departments.
Uganda Development Bank Ltd has confirmed the appointment of Mr. Bob Bonabo Munene as a new non-executive director to its board.
He replaces Mr. John Byaruhanga, the outgoing board member, whom UDB commended for his immense contribution.
“Thank you for the invaluable contribution towards our efforts to inspire development in Uganda,” the UDB said in a statement dated September 11.
Mr. Bonabo is an economist with extensive experience in development Economics, Finance, and public sector management having served in various positions at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development for the last 14 years.
He is currently a Principal Economist and heads the Banking Section under the Financial Services Department at the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.

He is currently a council member of the Uganda Institute of Banking and Financial Services representing the Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
Bonabo holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Statistics and Economics from Makerere University, Masters of Science in Development Economics from Uganda Martyrs University, Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from East Southern Africa Management Institute (ESAMI) and he is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Western Cape, South Africa.
