KAMPALA – Toyota dealer CFAO Motors Uganda Limited has launched the all-new Toyota Urban Cruiser on the Ugandan market, the latest Sports Utility Vehicle (SUV) in the company product line-up.
CFAO Motors Uganda Limited has since released pricing and specifications for the new model and it works out cheaper than the new Suzuki Grand Vitara with which it shares a platform.
Mr. Futsum Yosef, the technical Training Manager – CFAO Motors Uganda said the SUV is packed with the latest technology designed for customers looking for comfort, durability, and reliability.
He said the all-new Urban Cruiser combines design, performance, and technology offering consumers the comfort and sophistication required from an SUV.
“It has a fuel efficient and responsive engine that gives quick pick-up on speed and the best technology that includes Electronic Brake Force Distribution (EBD) – a further advancement of the ABS, and spacious interior including a luggage space of 328 litres and a 60/40 rear split,” Fustum told reporters during the unveiling of the much-anticipated vehicle on Monday.
Isaac Tegule, Marketing Manager at CFAO Motors Uganda, says the Urban Cruiser vehicle embodies Toyota’s legacy of quality and performance, and it’s meticulously designed to cater to increasing customers’ needs and aspirations.
“It’s not just a mode of transport; it’s an expression of Toyota’s legacy and innovation, tailored for our discerning Ugandan customers,” he says.
Toyota Urban Cruiser Features
The inside of the Urban Cruiser shows that attention has been paid to the fit-and-finish and tech offering of the small crossover. The steering wheel is much nicer to hold and certainly feels more substantial in your palms. The multifunction buttons on the ‘wheel are also of a higher quality, which makes the driver’s seat an altogether more premium place to sit. The steering column adjusts for rake and reach, although taller passengers that sit far back may not have enough reach adjustment to get perfectly comfortable.
In terms of features, it offers a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, keyless entry with push-button start/stop, auto AC, LED headlights and tail lights, cruise control, 5 airbags, and 17-inch alloy wheels.
But it’s a pity that Toyota didn’t also include a wireless charging bay. To that point, we only spotted a solitary USB-C port, but there was a 12V port adjacent to it (so that you can install an adaptor to create additional USB ports).
The vehicle will retail at UGX 120 million and, CFAO Motors Uganda the official dealer will offer customers the assurance of a 2-year/50,000km free service package to eliminate the burden of routine maintenance costs.
The vehicle is also backed by a 3-year/100,000 km warranty, reinforcing Toyota’s commitment to quality and customer satisfaction.
