The Supreme Mufti, Sheikh Muhammad Galabuzi, expressed gratitude towards Centenary Bank for always thinking about the Muslim fraternity and ensuring that they are cared for.

Centenary Bank has donated food items to Muslims at Kibuli mosque together with 200 bags of cement towards the renovation of Kibuli Hospital.

The items were handed over by Mr. Fabian Kasi the Managing Director, Centenary Bank. In his remarks while at the Kibuli Mosque Supreme Headquarters, Kasi thanked everyone who joined in the drive intended to support Muslims during the holy month of Ramadhan.

“Allow me start by thanking Allah for granting us life to convene together during this holy month. Centenary Bank recognizes the role played by faith in shaping people’s lives. Therefore, it is in this regard that we are honored to be a part of our Muslim brothers and sisters every year during the special month of Ramadhan,” Kasi said.

Kasi further stated that Centenary Bank will continue this initiative across the country throughout the month. “Centenary Bank has been consistently supporting the Muslim Fraternity in Uganda with different projects contributing to their growth and transformation. This holy month, Centenary Bank will be visiting over 10 locations in the different regions countrywide handing over food items as part of our corporate social responsibility,” Fabian assured.

He added stating that, “today, as a sign of our commitment to support the communities we serve, Centenary bank is contributing 200 bags of cement to support the renovation of Kibuli Hospital and food items like; Rice, Sugar, Salt, Soap, and Flour to the gathering of Kibuli Mosque to help them as they break their fast.”

“We appreciate Centenary Bank for this initiative and are happy that our Muslim community benefit from this support during the Holy month of Ramadhan. The community will also benefit positively with the renovation of Kibuli Hospital to a better standard and in order to improve our health care,” Galabuzi said.

He further encouraged Muslims to observe the teachings of Allah during the fasting season. “The teachings in the Quran demand that we should fast, offer alms and pay zakat among other acts. It is only when such is observed that our prayers will be received.”

After the handover, Fabian Kasi recognized the important relationship between the Catholic and Muslim communities.

“Centenary Bank is popularly known as a Catholic Bank and prides itself in its diversity of faith, and it is no secret that we have many Muslim customers and also promote a number of our staff who are Muslim such as those who are here. Our support to the Muslim fraternity is therefore a mandate for us to identify and stand with our brothers and sisters as they pray and seek Allah,” he concluded. 

During the Holy month of Ramadhan, Centenary Bank will give back to several Muslim communities countywide with several items ranging from food items, and construction materials, as a sign of its solidarity with its customers.
