Indian High Commissioner said that despite efforts by President Yoweri Museveni to ensure a supportive business environment for investors, there is a need to review bank transaction costs, and immigration regulations, among others.
Available data indicates that about 69 percent of taxes collected by the Uganda Revenue Authority are from Indian-owned businesses.
Kumar made the call in Kampala during celebrations to mark 25 years of Shree Group, an Indian-owned company that trades in Indian products.
Junior trade minister David Bahati said government had noted the feedback from the business community and such grey areas would be handled with immediate effect.
Bahati urged investors to establish manufacturing units in Uganda instead of relying on only imported finished products.
By doing so, investors will not only attract more sales but also create employment while boosting industrial growth, he said.

Minister Bahati told investors that Uganda has enough raw materials needed for the production of such accessories as tiles, in addition to a favourable business environment.
He also called on investors to stick to the production and trade in quality products for them to attract loyalty from customers and for customers to realize the value for their money.
